Our audition process is a fun,
non-threatening one. The goal is to make sure that the children invited
to participate have the skills necessary for individual & group success.
We want it to be a fun & positive experience for everyone!
Auditions for our 2008-2009 season will be held on Thursday, August
21st.
Children entering K-2nd grade should stop by the St. Andrew Presbyterian
Music Room sometime between 4:15-5:15pm. Parent and child will be
welcomed in for a private "meet & greet" and basic vocal audition.
Children entering K-2nd grade need to show that they are classroom ready
(mature enough) and have the ability to match pitch. That's it!
Children entering 3rd-5th grade need to be dropped off that Thursday at
5:30pm. They should wear dance shoes/sneakers and comfortable clothes to
move in. Their audition will consist of some basic choreography which
they will learn in a large group setting, a vocal check (match pitch /
range / tone), and a short dramatic reading. Parents should return to
pick up their child at 6:45pm.
An e-mail will go out to everyone with the results of the auditions that
weekend. Kick-Off/Registration Events will be held for each of the
groups the following week at their regularly scheduled rehearsal time. |
